There is a common meme out there that goes “You don’t hate Mondays, you hate capitalism.” If you follow the link you can even get it on a t-shirt and everything.
The idea is that on the weekend (for most people) you’re free of the job and the pressure of earning a living and often having to be at the receiving end of the office hierarchy. (Yes of course CEO’s are at the top of the ladder but there are a lot more mid level managers than CEOs and hordes more office workers than managers, so statistically speaking the majority are receiving confusing, wrongheaded and self contradictory orders from above rather than issuing them.)
But as I explore AI art and have created the character of a Minotaur (see below) who hates Mondays (in the tradition of Garfield and the song by the Boomtown Rats) and trying to think of new fun dialogues, I imagined him fighting a knight who explained to him it was feudalism that he really hated.
People on the left now say that we are in fact in late stage capitalism which is en route, not as Marx predicted to a workers paradise, but to neofeudalism where we will be divided once again into peasants and aristocrats. And…
