So election day happened. And there wasn’t a Red Wave. That’s good.

But it doesn’t matter. Because Democrats are likely to lose the House and possibly the Senate.

And I have watched Young Turks say that this was a good night for Dems because there wasn’t a Red Wave. But while a Red Wave would have been worse so what. Dropping off a 50 story building is better than dropping off a 100 story building but both are likely to kill you.

Dems didn’t pass any significantly helpful legislation to people with a majority in both houses of Congress. Now Dems have no chance in hell of passing voting rights protections, student debt relief, raising the federal minimum wage etc. No expanded protection of the environment, no fighting climate change. Not for another 2 years. So no accomplishments going into 2024, that will motivate voters. Sure.

And the Jan 6th committee will be disbanded and instead there will be 24/7 hearings on Hunter Biden’s laptop and about how the 2020 election was stolen with Dinesh D’Souza’s latest movie looping in the background.

So yes, it could have been worse. But we’re still screwed. Because Dems squandered their majority, just the way their donors wanted them to do.
