Weisser's lesson in bad logic begins with extrapolating from a poll of Democratic voters to conclusions about the preferences of the Progressive wing of the party. Since the link doesn't show anything about voter breakdown (such as age, education, political description etc) this is conjured out of whole cloth.

Using this made up premise Weisser then yells at Progressives for Hillary Clinton's transgressions, as if she was somehow the leftist candidate instead of the corporatist of all corporate Democrats. It's actually a rather neat sleight of hand. Being able to blame Progressives for Hillary's failings. Golf clap.

Next step is the usual excoriation of Bernie Sanders, saying he swiped from Occupy Wallstreet as if he wasn't fighting (and succeeding) for 15 dollars an hour minimum wage from companies like Disney and Amazon since forever.

And then ignoring the fact that another corporate Democrat (not a leftist) sabotaged Biden's Build Back Better agenda (with significant help from Biden, also a centrist Democrat ie. Republican leaning and loving) until a last minute concession to a bill that hasn't passed and is unclear what form it will take.

So Weisser, as Phil Ochs said about the centrists of his time 'thank you for the lesson in safe logic' and maybe take a class on fallacies and critical thinking.
