Underrated Movies: Love at Large

Neon noir by Doug x with Craiyon

I just watched Love At Large because I finally found it streaming on Amazon.

It’s a neo noir movie about Private Detectives, beautiful dames and love.

There is a fantastic plot twist in the middle of the movie (and spoilers bedamned because this movie is from 1990) where it’s revealed the private detective is following the wrong man because his client didn’t give him any details about whom she wanted him to follow. (I have clients like this sometimes)

But then he figures how the actual man is going to try and kill her and I have no idea how he does that or how he finds out where that man lives. I am unwilling to watch again and since no one else has done an in depth movie review on the interwebs about this movie, I may never know, (nor dear reader may you) but if you do watch and solve that plot hole please drop it in the comments.

But a great plot twist that is paid off is when Elizabeth Perkins, another P.I. though a new one still working for an agency is revealed to be hired by Harry’s kinda sorta girlfriend/ex-girlfriend. Naturally she falls in love with him and in a great scene Stella (played by Elizabeth Perkins) calls Harry’s ex gf, the client who hired her and then fired her in a fit of jealousy, asking for Harry’s telephone number.
