The Military Isn’t For Your Protection

The Military Budget for 2020 was 738 Billion dollars. That’s Billion with a B. As in the 20 billion dollars (as of 2013) it would cost to end homelessness in America, but multiplied thirty five times.

The military falls under what is euphemistically called the Department of Defense, but none of that money is about defending you.

Why would I say that? Well Covid 19 has claimed 265,000 thousand lives as of the time of this writing, Nov 30, 2020. Perspective? That’s more than half the number of American lives lost (418,500) throughout the entirety of World War 2. And the U.S. government, as I have said many times, has made no real effort to control this virus and protect it’s citizens. None. In fact it abandoned a national testing plan the moment Jared Kushner realized there was political capital to be gained by letting it run through the mostly Blue states and cities that were hardest hit at the time.

If the U.S. had a strong commitment to defending it’s citizens, which is theoretically what the Depart of Defense and the military are for, then we would not have suffered the passive murder of nearly 300,000 men and women of the United States. Those ideas are completely incompatible.

Imagine a village or city that in the 1400’s that had the finest in gates and defenses but allowed all of it’s citizens to…
