That Time The Nixon Admin Kidnapped a Woman

Many of my articles are prompted by conversations with a friend. Someday I’ll collate them in a list (the internet loves listicles after all ;)) This one germinated when that friend said she missed rational Republicans like the Nixon admin.

Now she had no illusions that Nixon was overall a good guy, but he did sign the EPA into existence and so seemed to regard the country as something other than toilet paper for the rich and powerful.

And while I can’t deny Nixon did create the EPA I objected that he was really less up to no good than today’s Christofascist Republicans. And I asked her if she knew about the time his admin kidnapped the wife of his Attorney General?

Enter King, who “rushed into her bedroom, threw her back across the bed, and ripped the telephone out of the wall,”
