So the first episode of Season 4 of just dropped. I have thoughts. And spoilers obvi. In general it was…an episode of Succession. I found it unwatchable several times in the first 15 minutes and almost turned it off. Definitely had to pause it a few times. Then the last ten minutes hit and it was fairly riveting as was the preview for things to come.

So I did not anticipate Logan Roy pointing out that no one tells jokes anymore. I have made this point before, maybe from my time as a sailor in the Coast Guard, that everyone should have 2 or 3 good jokes memorized for just such scenarios, either to pass the time or to lighten a mood.
Of course Logan’s apparently never valued this before, nor selected for it so his private council are completely incapable of telling him a joke. No one even thinks of asking Siri or saying “Hey Google, tell me a joke” which is a thing you can do and I highly recommend it a couple times a week. (write in the comments your memorized jokes if you have one. My quick one is “What’s the difference between Pea Soup and Roast Beef?” “Any idiot can roast beef.” Think about it. You’ll get there.
