Sold Out by Dems in Debt Deal

If, like me, you’re swimming in student debt (law school isn’t cheap, even on scholarship) you just got kicked in the sensitive bits, whether you know it or not.

Because we went and voted harder for Biden (the DNC anointed anti-Bernie candidate) and the Dem House and Senate didn’t increase the debt ceiling while they had the majority. And then, since they did nothing substantial to improve American lives in the two years they held the trifecta of House, Senate and Presidency (due to the exalted powers of the senate parliamentarian) they lost the House.

And since they didn’t enshrine Roe v Wade while they had the power to, didn’t protect voting rights for the 2022 election, didn’t pass a 15 dollar minimum wage, and most importantly didn’t abolish the debt ceiling, a thing only we and one other first world country have, the Republicans held Biden hostage once again. And they wrung concession after concession, including an end to the 3 year pause on student loan payments.

This was of course, forcing Biden exactly where he wanted to go. When he commissioned a memo on the subject of debt forgiveness, he buried the results forever. He said numerous times he wanted to end the pause of student loan payments. Because the credit card senator is no friend to students or debtors. And since the man is a policy disaster, his old friends and election partners at the DNC have decided to schedule no debates in the 2024 primary.

I voted for Biden, because he is better than Trump. Better in the way that having a jaguar bite off your arm is better than having it tear out your throat.
