So I am looking forward to Succession Season 4, in a way that I don’t quite understand.
I watched Season 1…eventually. After the reviews and criticism talked up the show. But I don’t think I enjoyed Season 1, not even in the sort of, there were a few good moments way I enjoy most movies and TV shows.
But the show hooks you. It’s fun to watch Logan Roy strut about the stage and chewing the scenery, but he’s also a bully who never quite seems to get his comeuppance, and that is not a dynamic that is fun for me. See Archer, Helluva Boss, and occasionally Firefly for other shows that I have extremely mixed feelings about for this reason.
Despite that I really enjoyed Season 3 and I have medium hopes for Season 4.
Prediction 1
Somebody dies. Kendall’s death was teased at the end of Season 3, and while this ended up with a sort of bait and switch feel, maybe it was foreshadowing for a pivotal death of one of the Roy siblings.
Prediction 2
The Patriarch falls. It can’t be Succession without a successor, so Logan Roy goes down, maybe dies, maybe not but someone new ends up in charge. The King is Dead, Long Live the King (or Queen).
