Now that tweet claims the judge is basically an additional defense attorney, which I don’t agree with, at least not from the clip embedded.
However I did focus on a moment, really several moments in that clip. Body language is a thing. I haven’t watched that much of this trial so far, but as an attorney I am familiar with a witness on the stand looking for help.
If it’s my client they look to me, a witness for the prosecution will usually look to the D.A. Kyle is clearly looking to the judge for help…and he gets it.
That is a luxury occasionally afforded to police officers, almost never to criminal defendants.
I don’t know if the judge has taken a side in this trial, but I can tell you who does believe he has…that’s the defendant.
