And while that’s absolutely true, I’ve seen quite a few less than you’d think. Despite the glut of superhero movies released, to the point where it’s fair to say they dominate the last decade of cinema, I’m not a fan.
Maybe it’s because I was never an Avengers fan and Captain America had exactly one good run for about 50 issues under Mark Gruenwald. This also gave me a love for Batroc the Leaper, who has a cameo in one of the MCU movies, sans colorful purple costume. And if you’re not going to have that costume…what’s the point of anything really?
I thought the first Thor had a really good ninety minutes in a movie that sadly ran 2 hours. My point is that I’m critical of my superhero movies, even when I want to love them. And sometimes when I want to love them more than anything, like Marvel’s New Mutants, they turn Lockheed into a hand puppet for no adequately explained reason.
But I digress.
So when I actually like something I want to write about it. I didn’t have a Medium account at the time, so I haven’t…
