The floundering meandering pace of congressional investigation into the many scandals of the Trump investigation has suddenly kicked into overdrive, the impetus and/or catalyst being the Whistleblower complaint. [1]
And this may be completely accurate, all it took was one person in the administration to make an official whistleblower complaint about the rampant impropriety and the house of cards came tumbling down. If only one had made a complaint earlier, or reached out to the Mueller investigation.
But what if that is not exactly the impetus or catalyst anymore than the assassination of a Duke caused World War I. By which I mean it was a pretext, and if not that one another would have eventually served.[2]
Another, slightly less talked about, tidbit popped up in the news at around the same time as the whistleblower complaint. The Wall Street donor class of the democratic party made a statement that if the party nominates Warren they would sit out the election or support Trump.[3] Now that is significant enough to deserve it’s own article but for today’s purpose, let’s just connect these two stories.
Suppose the donor class, the centrist leaning billionaires found themselves having to really confront choosing between Warren and Trump and found both choices unacceptable. The unstable would be dictator had delivered on the tax cuts but had also engaged in an economically harmful, mostly nonsensical trade war.
