Portland has been protesting for over 55 consecutive days as of this writing. This is impressive all on it’s own, but since July 14th unidentified, camo clad federal law enforcement has been kidnapping protesters off the street into unmarked rental vans. And impressively, the protests have only swelled as outraged citizens take to the streets.
If you don’t live in Portland, and it’s more than an hour’s drive you might not be able to take to the streets yourselves. That doesn’t mean you can’t help. There are excellent organizations that are proving much needed support to the protesters and are asking for donations to help provide those services.
There is Portland Action Medics and their Venmo ID is Rosehip-medics and they are trained street medics. One eye witness saw them take care of a protester who suffered a seizure in the middle of the street. And there have been multiple tear gas victims caught on camera including the ‘Wall of Moms’ and most notably the mayor of Portland himself.
There is also Riot Ribs which has been providing free food to the protesters since July 4th. They recently received a donation and endorsement from the U.S. congressman from Oregon Earl Blumenauer. Their cash app id is $Riotribs and their list of requested donations and venmo id is here.
