Enforce the F’n Subpoenas

The Jan 6th commission issued it’s first subpoenas to compel witness testimony Sept 23rd. According to a Sept 24th article from CNN “The four subpoenas are going to former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, former deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino, former adviser Steve Bannon and Kash Patel, a former chief of staff to then-acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller who had also served as an aide to Republican Rep. Devin Nunes.

In the least surprising plot twist of all time Trump told his lackeys not to obey subpoenas. After four years of the Trump admin defying subpoenas you were surprised by this, I imagine you’re the kind of person astonished to see the sun come up each morning or that gravity continues to keep you from flying. In a June 29th 2020 Forbes article Ted Lieu lamented “Nearly every House committee has been blocked by the Trump Administration at one point or another from getting testimony and documents needed to conduct oversight. We’re over a year into litigating multiple Congressional subpoenas in court. We have already held two cabinet officials in criminal contempt.” If you would like to do a quick count of Trump admin officials who spent time in jail for defying subpoenas that total would be zero. Feel free to add those up again as it’s a very high number I know.
