The Jan 6th select committee, in a rare instance of competence, found something interesting and disclosed it to the public. As early as Nov 5th 2020 Donald Trump Jr. was done with democracy. (Probably much earlier but this is per the text message the committee disclosed.)
Daddy’s little dictator texted Mark Meadows about plans to overturn the election based on control of key state legislatures. According to an April 8th CNN article “It’s very simple,” Trump Jr. texted to Meadows on November 5, adding later in the same missive: “We have multiple paths We control them all.”
Now why would the child whose name Donald Trump is most likely to remember after Ivanka text this missive to Mark Meadows? Did he think that dear old Dad wouldn’t think of staging a coup without his help? Did he text the Chief of Staff because unlike Ivanka, he doesn’t have direct communication privileges, or at least the number to Dad’s burner phone? I personally think it was a show of loyalty and plea for attention.
“Please Dad notice me, I’m onboard with subverting democracy if I get to keep my MAGA prom queen girlfriend.”
is how I interpret the meta message of his text urging his father to coup faster and better.
